ABL and Doepke share a successful strategic partnership. Based on their core competencies of line protection and residual current protection, both companies offer a high-quality range of switching devices with the ‘Made in Germany’ quality seal.
The partnership is based on mutual trust. On this basis, Doepke and ABL began discussing the future strategy of the two companies some time ago. ABL and Doepke will share this in a joint press release.
In order to ensure long-term success as an independent family business, it is essential that ABL is reorganised and that Doepke has stable growth and expands its product portfolio.
For more than 60 years, Doepke has been synonymous with the safe use of electricity. The company is one of the pioneers of residual current protection technology and is now an innovative expert for residual current circuit-breakers and other protective devices for electrical engineering. The company strives to further expand on these competencies.
ABL began developing, producing and selling charging stations for electric vehicles in 2011. Since 2018, eMobility has been ABL’s largest product area. Today, ABL is a reliable partner for trade, the automotive industry and energy providers. In future, ABL will focus on the key competencies of eMobility – charging infrastructure, plug devices, combinations and caravan components – and will completely cease production of miniature circuit-breakers in 2019.
Doepke will take over the production of miniature circuit-breakers from ABL and develop its core business as an efficient, reliable partner for the safe use of electricity.
ABL and Doepke will ensure this transition is smooth for customers. You can rely on the continued availability and outstanding quality of our products at all times.
“We are delighted to be able to cap a very successful 2018 with this forward-thinking decision,” stressed Doepke Managing Director Andreas Müller and ABL Managing Director Dr Stefan Schlutius upon signing the contract.
